That slap was well out of order though. Not to mention the fact that they just erased all of Les Amis, put Marius as the leader instead and then completely fucked up his character along with so many others.
I’m still mad about the whole thing. Javert was a huge asshole throughout the whole thing too, so I’m also mad about how he was portrayed.
Unsurprisingly, as they had actually even managed to make Valjean a dick. My anger knows no boudns as Liam Neeson is actually my headcanon Valjean and goddamn it how could they fuck that up.
Not to mention the extremely creepy, deeply unsettling romance they were trying to push between Valjean and Fantine. Ugh.
You should watch the 1978 one. It’s terrible and at the same time the best thing ever. The unintentionally hilarious love story of Valjean and Javert in the cleanest France (but not Paris at all) ever.
