Elie Saab Paris Fashion Week 2014 - PURPLE
Me and my friends will be there for all 3 days, so come say hi!
I’ll be dressed as Enjolras on Saturday, in a Constance (from the Musketeers) inspired outfit + cape for warmth on Sunday, and as Raoul (from The Phantom of the Opera) on Monday.
"We say, ‘Proud as a Scotsman,’" murmured the Duke of Buckingham.
"And we say, ‘Proud as a Gascon,’" replied d’Artagnan. "The Gascons are the Scots of France."
HAHAHAHA now i get all the tongue-in cheek comments about gascons and their tempers and stubborn loyalties okay i just had to have it put in context for me wow everything dumas said about gascons is 400% more hilarious now
So guys, only 2 days left and we only need about 5 likes more to win! If you haven’t liked our picture here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=427360157407779&set=a.427359974074464.1073741831.318733208270475&type=3&theater can you please, please, please go do so? I would be very grateful!
[Edit: and remember, I promised to write a drabble for anyone who ‘liked’ if we win]
The end is in sight! It needs some more buttons and I have to finish the sleeve cuffs, but it’s nearly there… days later than I’d hoped. So many tricky details! x)

"So let us go and get killed where we are told to go. Is life worth the trouble of so many questions? D’Artagnan, I am ready to follow you."
athos, baby, no
This is amazing! I like the idea of middle aged E/R being an old married couple, it pleases me. Like, both of them complaining about where the other put the keys to the car or disagreeing over dad rock bands.
Personally, I think E/R has its best chances in modern AU if only because depression and alcoholism are more understood now. Things still aren’t great, but a social justice advocate like Enjolras would kind of be expected to understand that mental illness and addiction are things even if R still annoys him. They’d definitely need time, communication and maturity to work but I think they’d fight tooth and nail for it if that’s what they wanted. ‘Stubborn’ isn’t the word for them!
Oh I absolutely agree that they have a bigger chance in modern days. I just think that their youth might prove as a bit of an obstacle. Young Enjolras sees the world in a very particular way and has difficulty undersanding anyone who does not share his point of view. He is still very unexperienced in a lot of things. Has not known true hardship or pain. It makes him harsher than he’d like to be.
Grantaire on the other hand has this wall around him. He hides behind his humour, his sarcasm and his addiction. Not many would even know or understand what that wall means or would take the time to try to break through it. He does not want to be saved or helped, he wants to be loved as he is, not as a work-in-progress or a cause.
Enjolras would probably have difficulties to understand and probably not think he has the time to try and find out as he is young and idealistic and he feels the weight of the world is on his shoulders and that it’s actually his responsibility. Young Enjolras sees everyone as a work in progress and thinks that everyone should strive to make themselves and the world around them better. Therefore he would probably not understand Grantaire who has not necessarily given up, but sees in himself a finished product. This is it, take it or leave it.
I think when they get older Grantaire might learn to open up a bit more. His friends have showed him that not everyone is horrible and that some people genuinely care for him. And an older Enjolras might have learned to pick his battles, to realized that men are flawed, but sometimes that’s alright, because those flaws make them special.
